Hello, my name is Mackenzie Moore. My major is International business with a minor in Spanish. Ive known that I have wanted to be this major since junior year in high school. I have researched employment options and spoke to someone who had a job with being an international business major. The lady I talked to worked for a small business in Richmond that sold hand crafted items from other countries. The lady went to countries to pick out and handle what products the business would buy and sell. I would like to do something like this as my profession. I have not changed majors this semester and I have had two classes affiliated with my major. These classes were Spanish and Business 110. My major requires a lot of math, all the way up to calculus, but I don’t mind math. Choosing my major helped me feel more prepared for the next four years. My family really didn’t pressure me into my major or any other ones, I chose to do this myself.

Families are important because…
Families are important because when I need advice I can go to any family member and see what they have to say. Although they may judge sometimes I know they will put that aside and tell me what they feel I should do. Family is important because they are always there for me through thick and thin, we can fight but make up five minutes later and be closer than ever. “Friends always come and go but family is forever” is probably the truest statement ever known to human kind. Family is DNA and I can’t get ride of DNA just like I can’t get ride of my family.
I wish I had enough money to….
Most people will probably say that if they had enough money money they would help the hungry and the poor or homeless. I think that is a given only a sick minded person wouldn’t want to help people who don’t have money. If I had enough money I would also buy a piece of land that is being intruded on and the animals are forced to find else where to live. I would buy it and then make it into a reservation so that it would be preserved. I also wish I had enough money to travel the world and experience every culture that I can. I wish I had enough money to own a baby lion or rehabilitate lions and tigers and then put them into a zoo. If I had that much money my life would be the best life ever.
Writing Process
Every writer has their own writing process. Mine involves thinking, prewriting or brain storming, writing a draft, editing, and then submitting the final essay. This way is a standard way of the writing process, but it works for me. I always find myself doing this process and it ends up giving me the best result. My writing process only takes about 2 hours total for a five hundred word essay, which is a reasonable time for me. I get distracted easily and my process helps me focus and get all my ideas out on paper fast and efficiently. I wouldn’t want to change my process because I don’t know how well I would do as a result of the change. The writing process is crucial to writing and essay and organizing my thoughts. Everybody should use a writing process no matter how different they are.
Reflective Paper
Reflective Paper
Some people I could have interviewed would have given me the most basic answers to this interview, but I chose the front desk RA and he gave the most truthful answers. He gave me tips that could be used in everyday life of a college student. I am going to implement his advice into my life by using an organizer, trying different classes to make sure I like my major, and being engaged in the school.
Getting organized is something that everybody will tell you is important. I am the kind of person who is messy and only uses a planner for the first two weeks. Thats going to change though, I saw how the RA used his and thought it was easier than trying to remember all the due dates for every class. Organizers are also good for me because you can get cute girly ones and they also have calendars so I can keep important test dates and birthdays.
As I continue through my college courses I hope to find that I chose the right major. The RA told me he took a classes where he shadowed a gym teacher and that class made him change his major. While I don’t want to change my major I hope to find classes that make me fall more in love with International Business. I plan on taking classes that push me towards my interests just like the RA did. I want to also shadow someone in the field of International Business, I think that would be a great learning experience.
I want to get involved as much as I can, taking seven classes won’t stop me from making friends and having monarch pride. Going to games and joining clubs is a part of the college experience and I am going to take his advice and try to get involved as much as I can. Getting involved means having the spirit and wanting to do more at the school than just school work. The RA told me he got over his home sickness by getting involved and I want to do that because I don’t want to sit in my dorm 24/7 and do nothing but wish I was with my family.
The advice given to me is eye opening in the way that shows that even older college student went through the same rough times. By taking his advice and using an organizer, trying different class to confirm my major, and getting involved I hope to have the best first year at ODU. Sometimes it just takes asking other students what to do to figure out how I am going to go about things, and it really has helped me to get advice from older students. I, hopefully, will see these point implemented in my life here soon.
Goals as a Writer
Writing is not a strong suit of mine, but I am always trying to make it better. Some goals I have as I write are to enhance my grammar and word choice. I also want to learn different ways to set up an essay, so that my essays don’t become repetitive. Language is also a factor in writing, I want to expand on my language in essays to keep the readers intrigued. I also would like to write faster and be able to think of things to write about, rather than toping and going all the time. My goals will only be achieved with practice, but practice takes time.
Introduction To a Professor Essay
Dear professor,
As a student I have always tried my hardest to get the best grades possible. Writing is not my greatest subject, but I always push myself to do the best that I can. In my writing process a weakness for me would be coma splices and semi colons, because I can never remember the rules for using them. Some strengths I have as a writer would have to be sentence variance and my paper set up. When I learn material I tend to do the best with visual and hands on learnings. Commentary on my papers usually do the trick with showing what to do. Having one-on-one time with a professor also is a big help for me because it helps me grasp the information better.
Feed Back From Professors on an Essay
It takes a lot of time and energy to write a 1,000 word essay, therefore I would expect some feed back on the paper when it is graded. Getting a B+ on the essay would probably make my day, but if there wasn’t commentary on how and why I got the grade I wouldn’t be totally satisfied. I always like to see what I did right and what I need to improve because if not I would keep writing my essays the same way. I would not improve if I didn’t have some instruction on the paper. Immediately I would think the professor didn’t have the time to go through and write what I did right and wrong. I like to see that my three days of hard work are being appreciated and noticed.
Exploration Of ODU Campus
My name is Mackenzie Moore and I am an international business major. I take seven classes which are European history, spanish, business, dance, Univ100, Univ150, and algebra. I did my exploration on the Student Rec and Wellness Center. When you go to the SRC expect to find work out equipment, a track, basketball courses, workout classrooms, and a rock climbing wall, and a pool. Students and faculty would be interested in using this facility to work off stress and hangout with friends. There are no fees because it is included in tuition. The SRC’s hours are Monday-Thursday 6 am to 12 am, Friday 6am to 12am, Saturday 10am to 9pm, and Sunday 10am to 12am. I defiantly will return to the SRC and if I had to change anything it would be to have more weight machines and more space to do free weights.
The Sample WSPT Essay
Timed essays are set up around the same basis of structure. The WSPT essay had a background, thesis, and many paragraphs. The conclusion was only two-to-three sentences and needed to be longer, but it is better than nothing. An essay should be set up with three-to- five paragraphs, and introduction, and supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph should have five-to-seven sentences to support the subject. My essay one was set up relatively the same as those guidelines. Not only did my essay fallow the guidelines it also was around 500 words, which is a normal standard for the WSPT essay.
